Having picked up the keys to the house on the 10th December 2020, we initially worked on giving each room a fresh lick of paint and getting new furniture and floorings in.
Having used SpareRoom.com extensively in my work I have good idea of the service we would want to offer and initially we will be developing the stays around walkers, cyclists, motorcyclist and train enthusiasts.
We us the following guest model and would welcome your feedback:
- We are not a Bed and Breakfast. What we offer is a fully serviced room and self service catering facilities for our guests with access to the items to make a simple breakfast
- Room rates per room per day (to maximum occupancy), not per person. Payment and booking will be via a number of on-line platforms or cash on arrival
- Teulu (sleeps 3 adults) @ £55. Single and double bed in same room and wardrobe for clothes storage
- Cariad (sleeps 2 adults) @ £45 per night. 4 poster bed and small dresser for clothes storage. TV in room
- Cysgu (sleeps 1 adult) @ £30 per night. Single bed with small chest for clothes storage
- A chargeable day is counted from 4pm on the day of arrival to 4pm the following day
- All bedding provided
- Bathroom
- is an all guest shared bathroom / toilet
- Room towels are provided
- Breakfast and drinks
- Room rate includes self service unlimited tea and coffee from the kitchen. You are welcome to take drinks to your room.
- Room rate includes self service / preparation access to basic cereals and toast for a simple start breakfast, just let us know the night before if you want this setting up. We would ask that breakfast is eaten in the dining room.
- Other meals
- Guests are welcome to use the kitchen facilities to make themselves a heavier breakfast or cook an evening meal to their preference. If you would like some space in the fridge to store your food, just let us know in advance. A dishwasher is provided to make your stay washing up free!
- There are a number of takeaways and restaurants in the town that we would encourage guests to enjoy. We are happy for you to bring take-aways back to the house.
- All meals to be eaten in the dining room please.
- Honesty box
- The house will always be stocked with food and drink. If you don’t get chance to get provisions and need something to rustle up a meal, or fancy a glass of wine etc in the evening please just ask
- We will operate an honesty box where all we ask is guests contribute the normal supermarket cost of that item
- Use of the lounge and snug
- We would like to make our guests stay as welcoming as possible. We have two main rooms for you to relax in. You may find me sat there but don’t see that as a barrier to coming in and asking to take control of the TV controller!
- If you would like some time on your own, the Cariad Room is bookable with a TV
- Parking
- We have limited off road parking. Please let us know in advance so we can advise of the availability
- There is on road parking adjacent to the property
- Visitors on motorcycles (or cycles) are able to secure their bikes in our garages
